Wine Notes:These wines have been specially chosen from my Library to create a beautiful gift of wine to share with others, or as lovely addition to you own cellar. I love verticals because they let us explore a winery’s style and see how differences in the weather and time in the bottle affect the wine in the glass. This is a string of terrific vintages that have been in the bottle long enough to have developed lovely bottle bouquet. Enjoy! ~Cathy Corison2004 Vintage Notes: The growing season started very early in the spring and included a cool, steady ripening period in the Fall. It ended with a very early harvest of extremely low yields resulting in exceptional concentration of the fruit. Pandemonium reigned for a brief time as Rose and Grace returned to school as the first grapes were picked.2005 Vintage Notes: Record-setting precipitation late into the spring delayed bloom and set in 2005. Then modest, even summer growing conditions were followed by an unusually cool ripening season with nighttime temperatures plummeting into the 40’s in late September and early October. A lovely Indian Summer brought the fruit to perfect ripeness for late October picking. A bumper crop with marvelous flavor intensity and singular balance are the happy result. 2006 Vintage Notes: Budbreak came very late in 2006 due to cold, rainy weather that continued well into spring. By early June, the sun finally came out and the vines began to bloom and set fruit. Even, cool weather arrived at last with August (in the nick of time for flavor and color development) and continued through a very late harvest for a nearly perfect ripening season.
